AMG® Revolutionary performance. Maximum intensity.

Mercedes-AMG® has officially unveiled one of the most ambitious performance vehicles in its history: the all-new Mercedes-AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé. More than simply another electric luxury car, this groundbreaking model represents a complete reinvention of AMG® performance for the electric era — delivering revolutionary technology, breathtaking acceleration, and unmistakable AMG® emotion in a fully electric package.

Built on the brand-new AMG®.EA high-performance electric architecture, the latest AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé introduces world-first innovations that push the boundaries of what an electric performance vehicle can achieve. From its radical three-motor drivetrain to Formula 1-inspired battery technology, Mercedes-AMG® has created a four-door sports car designed to deliver sustained performance, thrilling driving dynamics, and everyday usability without compromise.

A Revolutionary Electric Drivetrain

At the heart of the new AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé is one of the most advanced electric powertrain systems ever introduced in a production vehicle. For the first time in a series-production EV, Mercedes-AMG® uses revolutionary axial flux motors — a technology developed by YASA, the British electric motor specialist owned by Mercedes-Benz.

Unlike conventional electric motors, axial flux motors are significantly more compact, lighter, and capable of delivering substantially higher continuous power and torque. The new AMG® GT utilizes three axial flux motors — two mounted at the rear axle and one at the front — producing a staggering maximum output of up to 860 kW, or 1,169 horsepower.

Performance figures are nothing short of astonishing. The AMG® GT 63 4-Door Coupé accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in only 6.4 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 300 km/h with the available Driver’s Package.

The more accessible AMG® GT 55 4-Door Coupé still delivers immense performance, producing 816 horsepower and launching from 0-100 km/h in only 2.5 seconds.

Formula 1-Inspired Battery Technology

Perhaps even more impressive than the raw horsepower is the battery technology powering the new AMG® GT.

Mercedes-AMG® developed an entirely new “AMG® High Performance Electric Battery” inspired directly by Formula 1 and the Mercedes-AMG® ONE hypercar. The 800-volt battery system utilizes directly cooled cylindrical cells specifically engineered for sustained high-performance driving.

The battery contains 2,660 tall, slim cylindrical cells with advanced NCMA chemistry and silicon-containing anodes. Each individual cell is directly cooled using a specially developed electrically non-conductive oil coolant, ensuring consistent thermal management even under extreme loads.

This advanced cooling system allows the AMG® GT to repeatedly deliver maximum power without the performance degradation commonly associated with high-performance EVs.

Charging speeds are equally impressive. With charging capability of over 600 kW, the AMG® GT can recharge approximately 460 kilometers of WLTP driving range in just 10 minutes. Charging from 10% to 80% takes only 11 minutes under ideal conditions.

Mercedes-AMG® claims the battery concept has been engineered for future WLTP ranges exceeding 700 kilometers.

AMG® Emotion in an Electric Era

Despite moving to fully electric propulsion, Mercedes-AMG® clearly understood one critical challenge: preserving the emotional experience AMG® drivers expect.

To solve this, engineers developed AMG®FORCE S+, a sophisticated driving mode that recreates the sensory experience of a traditional AMG® V8.

Using over 1,600 sound files dynamically mixed in real time, the system simulates authentic AMG® V8 acoustics, gearshifts, burbles, and haptic feedback. Drivers experience simulated traction interruptions during virtual shifts, creating a driving sensation remarkably similar to a high-performance combustion-powered AMG® model.

The system even includes custom sound experiences for unlocking the vehicle, charging, and launch control sequences. According to Mercedes-AMG®, the goal was to create an electric performance car that still feels unmistakably AMG® — emotionally intense, visceral, and engaging.

Advanced Driving Dynamics

Beyond straight-line speed, the new AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé has been engineered to deliver exceptional handling and agility.

The new AMG® RACE ENGINEER system acts as the central intelligence controlling power delivery, torque vectoring, suspension behavior, traction, and cornering dynamics. Drivers can fine-tune the vehicle’s personality using dedicated rotary controllers integrated into the center console.

Additional performance technologies include:

* AMG® ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with semi-active roll stabilization
* Fully variable AMG® Performance 4MATIC®+ all-wheel drive
* Active rear-axle steering
* Torque vectoring
* Active aerodynamic systems
* Carbon-ceramic front brakes
* Multi-link front and rear suspension systems

The active rear-wheel steering system can steer the rear wheels up to six degrees for enhanced agility at low speeds and improved stability at higher speeds.

Mercedes-AMG® also introduced advanced active aerodynamic technologies, including active underbody Venturi elements, an adaptive rear diffuser, and a deployable rear spoiler that automatically adjusts depending on speed and driving conditions.

Radical New Design

Visually, the new AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé embraces a bold, futuristic design language while maintaining unmistakable AMG® proportions.

The car features a low, aggressive stance with a long hood, fastback silhouette, muscular rear shoulders, and dramatic aerodynamic sculpting. The AMG®-specific grille now features optional illumination, while star-shaped daytime running lights create a unique lighting signature.

At the rear, six circular turbine-style taillights reinforce the vehicle’s high-tech character. The car also sits lower than its predecessor despite housing a large underfloor battery pack.

Inside, the AMG® GT blends sports car focus with grand touring luxury. A seamless-glass digital display combines a 10.2-inch instrument cluster with a 14-inch central infotainment screen, while an optional passenger display further enhances the cockpit experience.

The latest MBUX infotainment system runs on Mercedes-Benz’s new MB.OS software platform and integrates AI technologies including ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.

Built for the Future of AMG®

The all-electric AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé represents far more than a new vehicle launch — it marks the beginning of a completely new era for Mercedes-AMG®.

By combining revolutionary electric drivetrain technology, Formula 1-inspired battery innovation, advanced aerodynamics, and unmistakable AMG® character, Mercedes-AMG® has created one of the most technically advanced performance vehicles ever produced.

As AMG® Chairman Michael Schiebe described it, the new AMG® GT 4-Door Coupé is “an absolute high-performance machine, packed with pioneering innovations that enable previously unimaginable driving performance in this segment.”

Production is scheduled to begin in summer 2026 at Mercedes-Benz’s historic Sindelfingen facility in Germany.

For enthusiasts and luxury performance buyers alike, the message is clear: the future of AMG® performance has officially arrived — and it is electric.
