With the Mercedes-Benz KEYLESS GO® technology, you can open and drive your Maybach SL Roadster without taking out your key. The exterior handles are flush against the body, and with just a touch they extend out and unlock the doors. HANDS-FREE ACCESS allows you to open the trunk with your foot with a light swing. To keep the trunk use efficient and simple, the trunk close button electrically closes the trunk on its own. The Brake HOLD feature keeps your vehicle stopped while in traffic on on a hill without keeping your foot on the pedal.

Clean Climate Control

ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL is a two-step air-filtration system that cleans and purifies the air throughout the cabin. Dual-zone automatic climate control allows the passenger and the driver to feel comfortable and adjust airflow and temperature based on whichever side you are seated. AIRSCARF® neck-level heating allows you to ride comfortably with the soft-top down (even when its cold out) by blowing heated air from the front seat headrests onto your neck.

The Monogram Series SL Mercedes-Maybach Roadster is the luxury vehicle that your adventurous side deserves. Multicontour front seat design are heated and ventilated to ensure the ultimate comfort. In addition, the the seats have three different massage functions, and also have upgraded lumbar, shoulder, and neck support.

Luxury Lighting

The Maybach SL Roadster is focused on creating a soothing and comforting atmosphere with 64 different color options to illuminate flowing lines throughout the cabin. With the ability to be dimmed and connect to music, the ambient lighting can subtly pulse to the beat of any song. Maybach logo projectors display a row of lights with Maybach lettering onto the ground, and are paired with illuminated door sills greet you upon arrival or see you off as you depart.

INNOVATION AND SAFETY

Multimedia

The third generation of Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) is upgraded with a faster processor and an intelligent voice assistant and its menu was simplified to resemble smartphone tiles. The virtual assistant remembers your saved profiles, routines, and templates. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is paired with an adjustable 11.9-inch center multimedia display, and wireless Apple Carplay® and Android Auto® comes standard. With Bluetooth® audio streaming, you are able to enjoy your music through the Burmester® High-End 3D Surround Sound system.

Augmented Video and Navigation

The Maybach SL Roadster uses advanced augmented reality to show you upcoming turns, street names, house numbers, and guiding arrows from a forward-facing camera on the center display. Head-Up Display, a 9-inch virtual image, is projected onto the windshield so all travel information needed for your trip is in your line of sight. Focused on keeping your eyes on the road, you can get directions without having to look away. MB Navigation is your virtual copilot with a 3D map that shows buildings and other landmarks for the most accurate representation of your environment.

Driving Assists

The driving assists on the Maybach SL are there for your safety and to make each drive easy and convenient. Active Brake Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist keep you alert by notifying you on a quickly approaching vehicle in front of you and the position of other vehicles around you. PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist is able to find the most optimal parking spot for you, and even steer, brake, and accelerate into the spot on its own. Steering assists, lane changing assists, and lighting assists all come standard on the SL 680 Roadster.

Safety Features

Advanced technology and upgraded equipment ensures the ultimate safety for you and your passengers. Ten airbags around the cabin, seat belt technology, and dual pop-up roll bars are all standard on the Maybach SL Roadster. PRESAFE® technology detects instability and a possible incoming collision. It can tighten the seat belts, adjust the front passenger seat, and close the vehicle windows to prepare for a crash. The Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) is able to detect wheel spin and brake individual wheels and reduce engine power to help get the vehicle under control.

DESIGN

Exterior Design

Every detail of the exterior is crafted with active aerodynamics in mind. The AIRPANEL system includes actives louvers under the grille that eliminates drag while adding the iconic Maybach motif. The Z-folding acoustic soft top is tailored with three layers of black fabric and a subtle contrasting Maybach design in Anthracite gray. A multistage active rear spoiler works above 50 mph at five different angles to enhance stability. The Monogram Series SL is available in red or white paint with the black hood patterned by the Maybach logo monogram.

Interior Design

The interior is just as attractive and functional as the exterior. The multisensory cockpit has twin seats sewn in a floral pattern with exclusive Nappa leather. Rose gold accents on the adjustable central touchscreen give a sleek and refined look. The steering wheel is outfitted with a leather and wood trim and is heated. The Maybach design motif is extended all the way down to the pedals. Stainless steel gas accelerator and brake pedals are adorned with raised Maybach logos with a rubber frame, mixing the modern look with the Mercedes-Benz functionality.

Wheels

The wheels that come standard with the SL 680 are 21-inch Maybach forged five-hole wheels. With gloss black inlays and a high-sheen polished finish, the wheels are also staggered in width and paired with high-performance tires. If you are looking for a different kind of wheel design, there is also the 21-inch Maybach forged multispoke wheels. Ultra-thin spokes are polished with a high-sheen finish and contrasted by deep black gloss inlays. The multispoke option is also staggered width with high-performance tires.

Maybach Design

Mercedes-Maybach has a classic design, and the SL 680 shows it off expertly. The iconic thin vertical grille is adorned with the Mercedes-Benz star on the hood of the car. The hood has a subtle monogram of the Maybach logo to match the fabric of the soft top. The grille is edge-lit and the headlamps have rose gold accents to keep the sleek and classy look. The Maybach SL is a new innovation, but immediately became a classic.

PERFORMANCE

Engine

The SL 680 comes standard with a 4.0L V8 biturbo engine that can put out 577 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Twin-scroll turbos with low-friction bearings are found in the “hot inside V”, giving the vehicle a basically lag-free boost. Three cooling circuits and an upgraded ventilation system keep the engine cool while providing higher boost power. Even with all the advancements to the Maybach engines, they are all hand-built.

Transmission

Outfitted with a SPEEDSHIFT® MCT 9-speed transmission, the SPEEDSHIFT® technology shortens shift times and gives way to multi-gear downshifts. DYNAMIC SELECT will shift gears for you based on the mode that you select. Sport and the available Manual mode quicken upshift time and rev-match downshifts for optimal performance, while Comfort mode decouples the driveline to conserve fuel while coasting on long drives.

Suspension

The ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension on the SL 680 is at the forefront of innovation in safety amd comfort. Specialized with active anti-roll technology, the torsion bar has been replaced by a system that hydraulically connects all four shock absorbers. The suspension works with ESP® Dynamic Cornering Assist, which targets the inside wheels when understeer occurs during cornering. It will apply the brake to inside rear wheel, distributing torque to favor the outside wheel.

Steering and Brakes

Electromechanical power steering delivers quicker response times for corners, easier maneuverability, and exact center feel straight line stability. For quick stops, the SL 680 is outfitted with the high-performance Composite Braking System. The brake discs have powerful six-piston fixed calipers painted silver with the Maybach logos in white.
