Spark Plugs

Spark plugs are what ignite the fuel delivered to the engine by the fuel injection system. They operate under intense heat and combustion shock waves. This is more so in traffic patterns associated with Metropolitan Areas (such as Atlanta). Because of the driving conditions associated with metro Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz and RBM of Atlanta classify this type of driving conditions as “severe operating conditions”. For this reason spark plugs are recommended to be replaced at this service interval. Worn spark plugs cause poor engine performance and poor fuel economy. Worn spark plugs also lead to Check Engine Lights coming on and rough running. New spark plugs installed by RBM will help the Customer avoid unwanted spark plug issues in between their regular scheduled service visits. As part of this important Service, RBM will also perform a “complimentary spark plug wire inspection” of the ignition wire components to determine if other issues are present that will cause problems in the ignition system.

Recommended at every 60,000 mile interval or 5 years, whichever occurs first, at the closest scheduled service.
