ACC Dust Filter Service
The replacement of the Dust Filter is required at every scheduled Mercedes-Benz 20,000 mile service / Service B. Dirty ACC dust filters restrict the flow of air through the ventilation system. Dirty ACC dust filters no longer filter out the pollen and dust from the surrounding environment. Atlanta has one of the highest pollen counts in the USA. Dust and smog are also in abundance in the Atlanta area. These pollutants clog ACC dust filters and cause them to lose their effectiveness faster than in other regions. This is even more pronounced in a high humidity climate, such as Atlanta.
Later model vehicles also use a charcoal activated filter, which is designed to remove certain odors from the outside and also from the inside as the system continues to filter the air. The charcoal activated filter can become contaminated to the point that it will no longer filter out the air for these odors.
ACC Dust Filter service is recommended for all Mercedes-Benz models at 20,000, 40,000, 60,000, 80,000, 100,000 and every 20,000 miles thereafter.
