Alignment

A correct four-wheel alignment is an integral part of the precision engineering that Mercedes-Benz built into your car. Correct wheel alignment will allow your vehicle to have the exceptional handling characteristics that Mercedes-Benz is known for. Keeping your tires properly inflated and your wheels correctly aligned are also key factors in ensuring maximum tire life. All wheel alignments change over the course of normal driving. This happens in part because many components responsible for wheel alignment are encased in rubber bushings to reduce “road shock” to the steering wheel and to the vehicle interior. The rubber encasings also serve an important role in extending the life of the metal suspension and steering components that they are in contact with. Over time, as the rubber bushings wear, the wheel alignment changes and will need correction to reduce tire wear and to restore precise handling. Rough road surfaces and/or aggressive driving styles can cause wheel alignment degradation at a much faster rate. Your service advisor and technical staff at RBM can best answer any questions or concerns that you may have about this important part of your vehicle maintenance. We will advise you of any alignment and/or tire wear conditions that maybe present when we perform your 5,000-mile interval RBM Tire & Wiper inspection, and at your “A” & “B” service.
